From the VCLS Website, December 2014:
- Ventura County Live Steamers, Inc. was established in October of 1996 as an all volunteer organization dedicated to the preservation of the nations railroads rich mechanical engineering heritage. We are incorporated as a California non-profit public benefits corporation with 501(c)3 IRS charity status.
- Our purpose is to further the avocation of live steam railroad construction and operation for educational purposes and to provide recreational activities for physically/mentally challenged children of Ventura County, CA.
