In 1995 Steve and Susan Flanders began the construction of their railroad. This private hobby, which started with a simple circle in their back yard, has grown to over 11,000 feet of 7 1/2" gauge rail and 5,000 feet of 24" gauge rail and more than 90 engines and cars in both sizes. And it’s still growing!
S&S is especially proud of its 24-inch gauge train exhibit that features a diesel-powered engine, an electric trolley, more than 10 passenger cars, a caboose, a 1914 Model T Rail Bus, 5-inch scale GE Dash 8 Road Locomotive, and our show stopping Crown Steam Locomotive. Each car has its own unique history.
Every piece and many aspects of the park have been carefully selected to reflect our great appreciation and love for the railroad. From the full-sized replica of a 1920s Union Pacific Freight Station that houses our snack bar, gift shop, and museum to the turn-of-the-century narrow gauge D&RGW #3177 Boxcar, there is something that appeals to everyone.
