Mary Purinton was the wife of IBLS founder Charles A. Purinton. She was very supporting of the live steam hobby, and was well know for the fish chowder meals she provided at the very first IBLS meets at the Purinton's home.

Obituary

Mary Purinton, the wife of Charles A. (Carl) Purinton, passed away very quietly on the evening of February 1, 1979. Besides her husband, she leaves a son and daughter and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary was in her 86th year. Expressions of sympathy should be sent to the Lions Club Eye Research Memorial of Billerica, MA or Perkins School for the Blind of Watertown, MA.
