Dear friends:
Dear friends:

So now after two months we’ve logged 92 locomotives with no end in sight. Will we be hitting 1,000 in time? But only if we get information from present and past owners can we greatly increase the quality of this effort. We need people in-the-know to fill in all the missing chunks. In most cases, logging the loco on this page is only the beginning!
This is the first update of the directory since 31 January 2025. We’re up to 734 locos now – 24 more than last time. I’ve updated a similar number of existing files. I always appreciate it when I’m sent new info or corrections – that always improves the quality of the registry.

We have at least two new jewels in this edition of the roster: an exquisite narrow-gauge Lynton & Barnstable 2-6-2T from the UK (file roster #14) advertised on eBay from California. The other one is a UP 8444 4-8-4 (file roster #12) from New Zealand which has apparently disappeared somewhere within that country.

The recently-added Rick Hann (see foreign-prototype 0-6-0T) did everything right. He sent me all the info requested plus photos. I’m otherwise in the business of trying to find locos on the Internet.

As stated previously: I can only mail out these two files to people who have given me an email address. But hopefully these lists will also be appearing on the IBLS (International Brotherhood) webpage.

The Registry

Russia, Kaliningrad region,

06 February 2026

Dear friends:

All the best for 2026,
Bill Yoder
