Cousin Gets Ride on Locomotive

Little Janie Arnold, seven-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel H. Arnold, Jr., Mt Savage Road, holds on tight as she gets a ride on the live steam locomotive being operated by her cousin, Richard Arnold, 19, also of Mt. Savage Road, who constructed the locomotive with his father, Louis Arnold, and younger brother, William, 16. The steam locomotive which was a tender and flat car capable of hauling three adults runs along a miniature railroad system located in the yard of the home of Louis Arnold, who is a machinist supervisor at the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company plant here. The three members of the family completed the project in about five years, having worked in the basement "roundhouse".
