Haskins Shops announced the completion the first of six Airslide Covered Hoppers in 1.5 inch scale. The model was built using a photo and an HO scale model for reference. It is of welded steel construction, with the exception of the sub-roof, which is plywood with metal skin. Jack Haskins, president of Haskins Shops and the Able Springs & North Texas Railroad, said they may sell one of the six cars to pay for material. Other builders on the project include Carrol Enders, Darren McNeely and Ken Howard.
