Ken Shattock writes:

Frank Dee was Secretary of the Golden Gate Live Steamers in 1948. Frank was credited with being the individual responsible for convincing the Eastbay Regional Park District to allow the Golden Gate Live Steamers the use of several acres of land in Oakland's Redwood Regional Park on which to build an outdoor track some 1330-feet in length. Frank also built a 3/4-inch scale model of an SP 4400 model with the streamlined casing. It was absolutely beautiful.
