Coles Power Models was established in 1928 by Charlie Cole in Ventura, California.

The company is owned by Kenny Rhodes, who took over from his father Kenneth Rhodes in 2016. The senior Rhodes was a previous supplier to Coles. The company is located in Warren, Texas. Previous owners were Martin Becker and Jim Gill.
