First edition book of authentic hand drawn and large original cross section drawings of the Union Pacific FEF-3 Class 4-8-4, published in 1975 by Wildwood Publications, having been edited by William C. Fitt. Spiral bound, this is quite a large manuscript that contains 50 pages of detailed drawings used in the construction and maintenance of this locomotive, which measures 45 cm (18 inches) in width and 28 cm (11 inches) in height.

This book was prepared with initial permission of Union Pacific Railroad staff that included a varying array of personnel employed at that time, such as their Chief Mechanical Officer, Engineer of Motive Power Design, General Mechanical Engineer, and associated public relations and advertising division. The drawings depicted within this book were all photographed from original inked drawings housed by the Union Pacific. The cover design was redrawn from an original photograph of this train that was taken north of Denver, Colorado, on 12 September 1970.
