Biography

From the slipcover of Large-scale Model Railroading:

A life-long interest in trains brought broadcaster and writer T. A. Hill to live steam in 1962. First constructing a pair of car trucks, he soon was working on a Pacific steamer. Since 1968 Hill has devoted full-time to operating trains. He has designed and built two backyard railroads; operated the Flat River & Southern 7-1/2" commercial operation; maintained and ran steamers for an amusement park; and is a Seaboard Coast Line Railroad Engineer. Tom resides in Sanford, Florida with his wife Blanche and their children, Susan and Tommy.
