MDM Locomotive Works was founded by Jim Murray in 1997. Jim operated the company until his death in 2013.

HTC Trucks
Lee Wright designed the original patterns used by MDM Locomotive Works for building the HTC Trucks. The trucks featured a wheelbase of 20 3/8 inches, wheel diameter 5 inch and axles of 5/8 inch diameter with ball bearing journals.
