Dear friends:
Dear friends:

Great to have met a number of you and also the locos during August in Mass.!
I believe I have all the locos entered finally which were copied out of Cap Purinton’s old albums at Waushakum last August. That puts us up to 558 total.
That also includes Daris Nevil from Texas. It would be really neat to crash
the Montreal LS anniversary meet in June 2019, but the time doesn’t suit.

It was very kind that Cap Purinton loaned me four of the old photo albums

noticed in those files yet I still have 10 or so to go. But I wanted to
have this updated version out before the end of the year. This is only the
third version this year, note the code “18-03”.

One big question for this time: This very nice CN 6218 appeared on the “Classic Canadian Nation” Facebook page on 5 March. It is now reportedly at the “Quebec Model Railroad Society” in the city of Quebec. Is she 3 1/2” gauge, and is she indeed live steam? Who knows? She needs to be that to qualify for our site.

Removing the glitches and errors is of course a constant task – always

In the files I have changed my eMail from “web.de” to “gmx.de” as seen
Richard Symmes of Beverly MA responded almost immediately that this model was made from wood and cardboard by Wilbur T. Frey of Vermont and later, Arizona. Frey “built over 200 steam loco models during a 40-year period. be sent double.

Hearty Christmas greetings,

Gvardeysk/Russia,

4 May 2019

Dear friends:

I believe I have all the locos entered finally which were copied out of Cap Purinton’s old albums at Waushakum last August. That puts us up to 558 total.

I repeat: Removing the glitches and errors is a constant task – I’m always happy for any and all additions and corrections. I had some trouble creating PDF files this time and it looks like the photos turn out darker with some PDF-softwares. Apologies.

Richard Symmes of Beverly MA responded almost immediately that this model was made from wood and cardboard by Wilbur T. Frey of Vermont and later, Arizona. Frey “built over 200 steam loco models during a 40-year period. They were not to scale, but based on visual ‘measure’ from photos sent to him.” One can find more via Google.

A model of CN6218 built from wood and paper by Wibur T. Frey.

Happy Summer steaming,

Bill Yoder
