			: Robert W. Maynard of Cincinnati, Ohio, is a personal acquaintance of countless Live Steamers and his name is known to many more.

			: Bob's projects have been published for several years and his most popular is the design for the CliShay, a locomotive designed for the beginning Live Steamer with minimum skill and equipment. Even with that consideration, many experienced Live Steamers have built them for their own use and one is now on his third, having sold the first two!

			: Bob was recipient of the First Annual [[Modeltec]] Magazine Award at the Saturday night buffet for 80 Live Steamers attending the Color-atour Meet in Meauwataka on October 12th, 1985. This Award will be made each year to individuals who direct their efforts toward assisting The Hobby through education, growth and expansion.

This marrying of the Shay and Climax engines was designed and built for Bill Fitt as a birthday present from his wife, Doris. This became a serialized build project in Live Steam Magazine. Bob designed it for the first time builder who had minimal tools available, and it became an extremely popular engine.
