			INSURING THE LIVE STEAM HOBBY: In an attempt to cut spiraling insurance costs for clubs and individuals in the Live Steam Hobby, the Federation of Miniature Outdoor Railroads is being formed to act as a headquarters for obtaining and arranging insurance for its members. Initial plans call for members to pay a fee to the Federation to cover costs of miscellaneous office expenses and the Federation would, in turn, obtain insurance at reasonable rates for the associated members.

			The Federation stresses that all clubs and individuals would be entirely independent except for rules required by the insurance company. Individuals and clubs involved in the Live Steam Hobby should contact the Federation of Miniature Outdoor Railroads, Seymour F. Johnson, Temporary Secretary, 3030 Vista Linda, Santa Barbara, CA 93108.

We could not get it off the ground because the standards for wheels and track equipment and other related issues. No one could agree. No one wanted to change to the new STD so it fell through.
