Alex and Grace Hitzfelder were early live steam pioneers in Texas. They constructed a railroad, the [[Medina Valley Southern]], in their cornfield in Devine, Texas. The [[Southwestern Live Steamers]] met regularly at this track, which were referred to as "cornfield meets".
